the objects of the cio are: to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of home-start charities/schemes in lancashire and cumbria and the effective use of their charitable resources in furthering their charitable purposes with the aim of: (a) safeguarding, protecting and preserving the good health, both mental and physical of children and parents of children. (b) preventing cruelty to or maltreatment of children. (c) relieving sickness, poverty and need amongst children and parents of children. (d) promoting the education of the public in better standards of child care. primarily but not exclusively by: • promoting and developing the profile of home-start charities/schemes in lancashire and cumbria; • preparing, presenting and administering funding bids where collective bids are appropriate; • advancing public education and awareness of home-start charities/schemes.
