to assist in the treatment and care of people living in the gambia with physical disabilities, in particular but not exclusively persons with congenital, developmental and residual disablements from polio and trauma and children with club foot by the provision of surgical or non-surgical rectification of such disablements from a multi –disciplinary team from the uk and by the provision of surgical, medical and therapeutic equipment and mobility aids.to advance the education of gambian health professionals in modern orthopaedic surgical & therapeutic techniques and to assist them in improving administrative skills to enable them to more effectively organise and operate outreach rehabilitation services for physically disabled people to access regular physiotherapy, occupational therapy and receive mobility aids.
