Objects:
1. to promote and protect the mental health of sufferers of mental illness, in particular but not limited to those from african and caribbean communities residing permanently or temporarily in southwark and neighbouring boroughs, through the provision of support, education and practical advice.2. to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people who are (or are at risk of being) socially excluded from society as a result of discrimination on the grounds of race, and mental health, in particular members of the african and caribbean communities, by providing education and information to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society; in particular by:- providing a local networks of group counselling, writing workshops, that encourage and enables members of the african and caribbean communities to participate more effectively with the wider community;- increasing, or co-ordinating, opportunities for members of the african and caribbean communities to engage with service providers, to enable those providers to adapt services to better meet the needs of those communities;- raising public awareness of the issues african and caribbean communities face, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion, through the provision of workshops, talks, forums, advocacy and general support.
