to promote for the public benefit, national and international conflict resolution or reconciliation in such ways as the trustees may from time to time decide, in particular (but without limitation), by establishing and maintaining social and cultural cohesion and trust between communities affected by conflict, or within communities where conflict is likely to arise by:-advancing the education and training of mediators and reconcilers (whether individuals, churches or voluntary organisations) so as to:-minimise or prevent the possibility of conflict arising within communities; orleading and co-ordinating efforts to promote reconciliation in communities already affected by conflict or war, for the purpose of seeking a non-violent resolution.investigating and identifying the likely causes of conflict and facilitating the provision of advice and information as to the best practice and policy in the area of conflict prevention and/or resolution;commissioning research and publishing the useful results of such research for the public benefit, into the relevant economic, social, religious and cultural causes of particular conflicts which also examines and recommends possible solutions for achieving a non-violent resolution;recommending to parties involved in conflict and the wider national or international community, appropriate measures which in the opinion of the trustees, is likely to result in the resolution of conflict;provided that all activities of the cio shall be balanced and shall maintain or enhance its commitment to remaining impartial.
