the objects of mrew are to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of mountain rescue charities and voluntary organisations for the public benefit, in particular by:1.ensuring high standards of training and equipment for its members,2.providing training, including technical training applicable to searching for and rescuing people in difficulties in mountainous regions or inhospitable environments; 3.co-ordinating the work of its members engaged in larger-scale search and rescue operations;4.ensuring effective links with other rescue services, such as the police, ambulance, fire and rescue and coastguard services
