the objects of the cio are, for the public benefit:1) to promote and protect the physical and mental health of people diagnosed with motor neurone disease and their families and carers in the united kingdom, in particular but not exclusively by providing financial assistance to make necessary adjustments to the homes of people with motor neurone disease to enable them to remain in their home.2) to advance the education of the public in general (and particularly amongst scientists and health professionals) in the subject of motor neurone disease by funding research in all aspects of the disease, the useful results of such research to be published for public benefit.3) to promote and protect the mental health of children who have experienced the death of a parent.4) to help young people, especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities, in particular community and amateur rugby league, so as to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.the above objects to be carried out by way of making grants to charities and/or other organisations and individuals.
