the objects of the cio are as follows: the impact facility exists for the for the public benefit to; 1. promote sustainable development for the benefit of communities and landscapes in developing nations and countries in transition. the impact facility will contribute by: a) the preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment and the prudent use of natural resources; b) the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities; in developing nations and transitioning countries. c) the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration. in this context sustainable development is defined as, ‘development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008
