the object of the cio is to advance the education of the public in the appreciation of art in all its forms through the study of historical, cultural and scientific artefacts.activities in furtherance of this will include:(a) promoting exhibitions throughout the united kingdom and in other parts of the world by providing access to collections in public or private ownership which are not otherwise easily available to the general public;(b) encouraging appreciation of and a culture of visiting museums and their collections wherever they may be exhibited;(c) supporting the furtherance of such objects by providing financial assistance and undertaking activities in any part of the world and through support of all kinds for collections and their curators, though exhibitions and all forms of media presentation;(d) working with schools and other educational institutions in developing a programme of activities drawing on museum collections within the united kingdom which enhances understanding of themes and ideas relevant to the national curriculum.
