the object of the cio is:to advance the education and development of children and their parents/carers living south camden without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions in particular but not exclusively by: a) providing child development and parenting skills training to parents/carers b) providing safe group play and other activities designed to support children’s social and emotional development;c) providing support and activities which develop an individual’s capabilities, competences, skills and understanding; d) providing activities designed to preserve and protect the physical and emotional health of children and their parents/carers;e) providing or assisting in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of children and their parents/carers with the object of improving their conditions of life; f) making grants of financial assistance to charities and voluntary organisations working to support children and their parents/carers and promote good parenting; andg) making grants to local authority organisations such as schools, nurseries and children’s centres.for the purposes of this clause:• charities are organisations, which are established for exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the law of england and wales. • voluntary organisations are independent organisations, which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community, and which are not permitted by their constitution to make a profit for private distribution. voluntary organisations do not include local government or other statutory authorities.
