the charity’s objectives (‘the objectives’) are to advance the education of the public in the history and archaeology of leicester, leicestershire and rutland by: • providing and assisting with the provision of learning about and understanding of the historic environment both above and below ground by practical and academic training and education • providing training in techniques of archaeological exploration and recording • providing public lectures and exhibitions • organising a festival of archaeology of up to one month duration • encouraging the general public to participate in a broad range of archaeological activities • working closely with other bodies to further interest and participation in archaeological discovery
