the objects of the cio are:1. the advancement of the amateur sport of boxing in the city of sheffield for the public benefit by the provision of facilities for participation in the sport of boxing.2. to act as a resource for young people living in the city of sheffield by providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for the sport of boxing and organising programmes of physical and other activities as a means of:a. advancing in life and helping young people by developing their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as independent, mature and responsible individuals;b. providing recreational and leisure time activity in the interests of social welfare for such young people living in the area of benefit who have need by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances with a view to improving the conditions of life of such persons. 3. to further or benefit the residents of the city of sheffield and the surrounding areas, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving conditions of life for the residents.in furtherance of this object but not otherwise, the trustees shall have the power:a. to establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority or other organisation or body in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects.
