Objects:
the objects of the cio are: 1) to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with blind/visually impaired people in east lancashire who are socially excluded on the grounds of their disability, to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society, in particular by: a) providing a local network group that encourages and enables members of the blind/visually impaired community to participate more effectively with their peers and the wider community; b) increasing, or coordinating, opportunities for members of the blind/visually impaired community to engage with service providers, enabling those providers to adapt their services to better meet the needs of the blind/visually impaired community; c) providing education and information to support and enable blind/visually impaired parents to maximise educational opportunities for their children; d) raising public awareness of the issues affecting blind/visually impaired parents and their children, both generally and in relation to their social exclusion; e) providing recreational facilities, outings and social trips and opportunities for blind/ visually impaired persons; f) providing a transport service to and from recreational activities/services. g) providing workshops, forums, advocacy and general support; 2) to relieve the needs of blind/visually impaired people in east lancashire by the provision of adapted accommodation.
