to relieve people with physical sensory and mental disabilities by encouraging and facilitating their participation in the sport of fencing and assisting in the provision of training, facilities and equipment for this purpose, in particular but not exclusively by the following means:(1) to encourage, promote and develop fencing amongst people with disability both as a leisure activity and competitively. (2) to promote, through participation in fencing, opportunities for integration of disabled and nondisabled people, in particular through close liaison with the governing bodies of fencing and their membership. (3) to make known to people with disability the benefits, physical, social and psychological, of participation in fencing. (4) to promote, co-ordinate and/or otherwise ensure the provision and improvement of opportunities for coaching and training fencing by, of and for people with disability and the development of appropriate aids and equipment. (5) to promote, co-ordinate and/or otherwise ensure the provision and improvement of opportunities for international competition in fencing at home and abroad by and for people with disability. this shall include the selection of british teams and their preparation and management and the management of any performance, talent or similar programs which may from time to time be established. (6) to co-ordinate with the british paralympic association the selection of british fencing teams for the paralympics, and their preparation and management. (7) to establish maintain good relationships with other fencing and sports organisations in the united kingdom, e.g. the sports council, the central council for physical recreation, the british paralympic association, other disability organisations, local authorities, sports centres, sponsors, the mass media, public relations companies and sports equipment manufacturers. (8) to do all such lawful acts or things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them, in so far as that does not forfeit the charitable status of the charity.
