the objects of the cio are to advance young people's education and to advance public knowledge of science by:- inspiring and support school-age students to conduct and disseminate original scientific research- further understanding of the scientific method, and appreciation of science as a process of continuous improvement- developing the skills of school-aged students, both technical skills and æsoftæ skills such as communications, teamwork, leadership, networking- raising school-aged studentsæ aspirations for science-based studies and careersthe cio achieves its objects by providing school-age students with a place to publish their research, supporting the student-run editorial team, holding conferences and networking meetings, providing careers information, advice and guidance, and showcasing their work to others, or by any other activity it sees fit.
