to promote for the public benefit the prevention and reduction of domestic abuse in portuguese speaking communities in the uk by:1. advancing awareness and understanding among (in particular, but not exclusively) members of the portuguese-speaking community living in the united kingdom, in all matters of domestic abuse by:a) working in partnership with multidisciplinary agencies to facilitate access to services that best meet the needs of those suffering directly or indirectly from problems within the family unit, combat isolation, and loneliness.b) providing a platform for families and friends to voice concerns and for mutual support, to share their knowledge with and learn from each other.2. raising awareness of the negative impact of domestic violence, focusing on provision of information and empowerment of citizens of the portuguese- speaking community, to build positive relationships within the family and the community by:a) providing education and practical tools on the impact of domestic violence and providing resources to those in unhealthy relationships training.b) providing information in portuguese to increase awareness of the varied forms of abuse and the potential consequences on the victims and on the community.c) supporting families at risk and victims of domestic abuse to improve family safety
