the object of the cio is: for the public benefit to promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for greyhounds which are in need of care and attention by reason of retirement from the racing industry, sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances and ill usage,rehoming such greyhounds where possible and educating the public in matters pertaining to responsible dog ownership and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among dogs, with a particular focus on retired racing greyhounds.
