the objects of the cio are: 3.1. to protect members of the public, and in particular children, from suffering, or likelihood of suffering, significant harm, ill-treatment, impairment of health or impairment of development by the encouragement and promotion of any methods, services and facilities calculated to safeguard and promote their welfare. 3.2. to educate and inform the public at large and, in particular, but not exclusively, those persons professionally working in any relevant field in all aspects and effects of abuse and neglect on children and adults.nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008.
