the objects of the cio are: the relief of sickness and the preservation and protection of good health among women residing permanently or temporarily in ghana and the poorest areas of africa, as may from time to time be determined by the trustees, by: a) the provision of medial facilities, equipment, resources and services not normally provided by the statutory authorities to hospitals and clinics and the provision of training to healthcare professions designed to assist in the pre and post-natal care and treatment of women during pregnancy, in particular those who are most vulnerable due to mental or physical illness of any description or in need of rehabilitation as a result of such illness. b) the provision of grants of financial assistance to vulnerable women in the greatest need who are unable to afford medical bills with the aim of preventing separation of mother and baby and increasing their access to healthcare professionals, thus preventing the avoidable death and illness of both mothers and babies.
