to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people in saltdean, brighton, east lewes, rottingdean, ovingdean, woodingdean, roedean, telscombe, peacehaven, newhaven, seaford and the surrounding areas who are socially excluded on the grounds of their age and conditions related to the ageing process, preventing them from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of such people and assisting them to integrate into society, in particular by: a) providing local network groups that encourage and enable members to participate in, and engage more effectively with, the wider community; and b) providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the aim of improving their conditions of life.
