to preserve and protect the physical and mental health of blind and partially sighted people in west cumbria for the public benefit by:-- assisting those who are blind or partially sighted gain access to support and equipment;- vising those people in the area who are blind or partially sighted at home where they are housebound to update them of developments and to see whether they can assist further, or by contacting them by telephone to provide a similar service;- receiving referrals from statutory and other agencies to enable users to access the help and support offered by the organisation and to direct others to the help they are entitled to through other organisations;- promoting social interaction through a programme of activities and outings for those who are blind or partially sighted to encourage a sense of community;- bringing new equipment and developments to the attention of its users and the wider public to assist with the aim of helping those with sight loss, preventing the same and educating the wider public.
