the objects of the cio which are for the public benefit, are specifically restricted to the following :to advance the education of the public in the uk and china by:-a) providing student short term exchange programmes for uk university students or other learners to go to china, visiting chinese universities and learning about chinese culture and organising short-term exchange programmes for chinese university students or other learners to come to the uk, visiting universities and cultural centres, business establishments and other cultural activities;b) conducting research in topics pertaining to the uk and asia and disseminating useful results for the public benefit. the cio will specialise in multi-disciplinary research such as in the fields of anthropology, business, tourism, sustainability, economy, social and environment.c) promoting learning and academic activities by facilitating academic exchanges between the uk, china and other asian countries, including organising visiting programmes and conferences to develop individual capabilities, competences, skills and understanding of issues affecting academics and to ensure fulfilment of students' intellectual potential in the uk and asia.d) facilitating collaborative work between british and chinese universities to advance understanding and knowledge in the areas of logistics, anthropology, business and engineering.
