Objects:
the object of the cio is the protection of civilian communities throughout the world affected by armed conflict, including in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing): (a) educating and assisting conflict-affected civilian communities to successfully advocate for their own protection(b) improving the ability of conflict-affected civilian communities to implement actions that enhance the safety and security of such communities(c) improving the access of civilian communities to armed actors, and improving their influence over armed actors(d) strengthening the resolve and capacity of armed actors to prevent and respond to civilian harm.(e) building the capacity of governments and governmental security forces to better protect civilians(f) engaging with and training armed non-governmental bodies so as to reduce their harm to civilian communities and their capacity to protect civilian communities provided that(a) the cio shall always act by non-violent means and (b) nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the cio for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with the law of england.
