the object of the cio is:to relieve the needs of bereaved widows and their dependents in the uk, nigeria and ghana for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively by:a) providing grants of financial assistance, services and items to support economically disadvantaged widows;b) offering emotional and practical support to widows in the grieving process and to support their readjustment to life without a spouse, including advice and support from qualified experts;c) equipping widows with new skills to enable them to join or re-enter the workplace; d) providing grants of financial assistance to organisations in nigeria and ghana whose work involves the support of socially and economically disadvantaged widows and their dependants.
