for the public benefit to promote the conservation and protection of wildlife mammals in dorset in particular, but not exclusively, by: i. maintaining records of the presence and activities of wild mammals in order to:• protect habitats from illegal interference and land development• encourage protective measures at accident black spots• monitor the status of wild mammals in dorset ii. helping investigate cases of suspected persecution or habitat disturbance in liaison with all relevant authorities;iii. promoting public awareness of, and respect for, wild mammals;iv. providing advice, education and training for members and others in mammal-related matters;v. contributing to county-wide and national research into mammal populations;vi. engaging in and promoting the welfare of mammals and their habitats.
