the objects of the cio are:to advance public education in, and appreciation of, the arts for the public benefit through the provision of financial support to museums, galleries and educational establishments designed to:a) promote and raise public awareness of a wide range of artistic disciplines – including but not limited to sculpture, painting, antique and decorative art, antiquities, rare books, photography, watchmaking, jewellery, and oceanic and tribal art – with a particular focus on niche or rare disciplines and styles;b) create public exhibitions of artworks that would not otherwise be seen, for example, by arranging for public exhibition of items in private collections not generally open to the public;c) increase the public’s access to educational and research materials, whether physical or online, particularly for the education of children, those in rural or remote areas, or those from deprived backgrounds;d) promote the understanding and practice of certain crafts and art restoration techniques, such as weaving, carpentry, stonemasonry, glass blowing, gilding, bookbinding, and framing;e) assist in the purchase and public display of culturally or historically significant works, particularly those that are rare and of exceptional quality.
