to promote equality and diversity for the public benefit across the new forest and the surrounding areas, by:· the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity;· advancing education and raising awareness of the public with regard to all aspects of discrimination, issues and difficulties affecting the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender plus other sexual and gender identities (lgbtqi+) people and their families and children;· cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality & diversity and fostering understanding between people from diverse backgrounds; and· staging and promoting lgbtqi+ events throughout the year, in particular an annual lgbtqi+ festival.
