the object of the cio is to advance the education of the public, groups and individuals in, and promote the understanding, appreciation, composition and performance of song, both its poetry and music, through a series of events governed by a strong artistic vision including (but not limited to) principally:a)the arrangement of an annual song recital series; andb)with a significant outreach and audience development component incorporating:(i)workshops with local schoolchildren(ii)a young artist programme(iii)talks and educational events(iv)ad hoc events to bring music and poetry to new audiences, the disadvantaged and marginalised for the benefit of all sectors of the community in south east london and elsewhere (the object).
