the objects of the cio are: to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of the public in teignmouth and the surrounding areas in particular but not exclusively by:a. the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identityb. advancing education and raising awareness of the issues faced by lgbt people and cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversityc. delivering an annual lgbt festival and smaller events and activities for the lgbt community and its allies throughout the year in order to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds
