(a) the prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship in particular (but without limitation) by providing or assisting in the provision of necessary support designed to enable individuals to find employment or generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient; (b) to develop the capacity and skills of the members of any socially and economically disadvantaged community in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society; (c) to promote the preservation of good mental health and to relieve the needs of people suffering with mental health problems, in particular (but without limitation) by promoting awareness and providing education and training on the importance of mental health;(d) to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society;(e) to promote of education and training in particular (but without limitation) by providing education and training in the skills, methods and techniques required for the establishment and management of charities, social enterprises and social businesses which act for the benefit of the community; and(f) to advance other charitable purposes beneficial to the community in particular (but without limitation) by promoting and supporting the development of charities, social enterprises and social businesses which act for the benefit of the community.'socially excluded' means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one of more of the following factors: unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); substance abuse or dependency including alcohol and drugs; discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; poor housing (that is housing that does not meet basic habitable standards; crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society).
