the object of the cio is:the advancement of health and the saving of lives for the public benefit in england and wales by: 1. funding and promoting research, the useful results of which will be published, into the lifestyle of cancer survivors with the aim of prolonging life and minimising the risk of recurrence of the disease; 2. educating the public on the social, emotional, and medical issues relating to the treatment and prevention of cancer, in particular but not exclusively, prostate and breast cancer;3. encouraging and supporting a virtual self-help community of cancer sufferers, cancer survivors, their families and dependants assisted by medical, nutritional and lifestyle professionals; 4. carrying out such other charitable activities related to the above aims, including assisting other charities with similar aims, as the trustees see fit.
