the objects of the charity are to advance the christian faith with the aim of bringing people to a personal faith in jesus christ by:3.1 providing trained evangelists and lay agents (including, but not limited to, chaplains) to assist the advancement of the christian religion; and3.2 relieving poverty and distress, including by (but not limited to) providing pastoral care and support,particularly among people living or travelling on or around canals and waterways across the uk.nothing in this deed shall authorise an application of the property of the charity for purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the charities and trustee investment (scotland) act 2005 and/or section 2 of the charities act (northern ireland) 2008.
