pride in weston recognises and celebrates lgbtq+ civil rights protections afforded to us today by those who fought yesterday. we are #proudtobe the torch bearers who will continue to build upon those foundations and push forward with transformational engagements that further advance inclusion, equality and justice for all lgbtq+ people within and around our community.we intend to promote our cause by;1) raising awareness and educating the public about the issues and struggles within the lgbtq+ community, via local support groups, educational talks, promoting the subject of equality & diversity and hate crime awareness.2) staging annual lgbtq+ festivals and similar events, including social events, to provide a safe environment for the community to attend and enjoy being themselves and providing a safe space for attendees who could also offer advice on various issues if needed/wanted.3) assist with local authorities and groups to ensure hate crime is dealt with efficiently and effectively to provide a safe area in weston for the lgbtq+ community, to reduce social isolation and combat all forms of discrimination.
