the objects of the cio are:to promote, for the public benefit, conservation, protection and recovery of the permafrost through prevention and/or mitigation of the impact of climate change on the permafrost and prevention and/or mitigation of the impacts of the thawing permafrost has on climate change by releasing dangerous levels of methane and/or other greenhouse gases (ghgs) into the atmosphere, creating a feedback loop that accelerates further global warming, in particular, but not exclusively by:a) raising funds to make grants to charities, institutions, organisations that conduct research into the causes, effects and ways to prevent and/or mitigate the impacts of climate change on thawing of the permafrost, and/or study specifically how and where the thawing permafrost releases dangerous levels of methane and/or other ghgs, for example, in the aftermaths of forest fires or heat waves on the permafrost, to better understand its impact on global warming;b) raising funds to make grants to charities, institutions, organisations, or groups of individuals, scientists, students and others, that take positive actions to prevent and/or mitigate the causes and effects of climate change on thawing of the permafrost; prevent and/or mitigate releases of dangerous levels of methane and/or other ghgs into the atmosphere by the thawing permafrost that further accelerate global warming; c) educating, raising awareness, disseminating knowledge about the actions urgently needed to mitigate the effects of climate change on thawing of the permafrost that releases dangerous levels of methane and/or other ghgs into the atmosphere that further accelerate global warming and ways to adapt life on the permafrost to the environmental changes through conferences, presentations, social media, publications and websites with the view of directly impacting policy decisions in those areas;d) support local indigenous communities living in the areas of the permafrost to survive, get relief and/or adapt to the detrimental effects caused by the physical damages into the landscape as a result of the thawing permafrost and/or releases of dangerous ghgs.
