provision and maintenance of almshouses for poor widows and spinsters who are not less than 50 years of age and have been resident in the said parish for at least 5 years. if no suitable applicants qualify then married couples who otherwise qualify may be appointed. provision and maintenance of almshouses for poor widows and spinsters of good character aged 50 years or over and who have resided in the said parish for at least 5 years. if no suitable applicants qualify then married couples who would otherwise qualify may be appointed. almshouses for poor married couples, or widows, or spinsters, not less than 50 years of age and who from age, ill health or infirmity are unable to maintain themselves, and the payments of stipends to such people almshouses for poor widows or spinsters of good character of not less than 50 years of age who have resided in the area of benefit for not less than 5 years preceding the time of appointment.
