"see (a) attached dated 20th may 1980benefit of men who have served in the royal navy or royal marines and their dependents who are in need through disability by reason of age or ill health assistance for serving and ex serving members of our naval forces who serve or have served in h.m. submarines and to their widows, orphans and dependents. relief to naval orphans, irrespective of creed, as individual cases of necessity and distress see (b) attached dated 22nd sept.1978for the benefit of serving ratings under the age of twenty five years or their dependents who are in need of assistance. see (l) attached dated 19th may 1982benefit of persons who are maternity cases amongst the wives of serving or ex serving members of the royal navy and royal marines. see (c) attached dated 18th feb.1975provision of assistance to widows and dependents of all deceased ratings who have served in submarines. see (d) attached dated 27th march 1981relief of distress caused by the 1939-1945 war amongst naval men and their dependents. see (e) attached dated 20th april 1982relief of widows and orphans of men lost whilst serving on minesweepers and trawlers. see (f) attached dated 14th january 1981general benefit of naval orphans. benefit of wives of serving members of the royal navy and royal marines for maternity purposes (including deserted and separated but not divorced wives) see (g) attached dated 19th oct.1976care, maintenance and welfare of children qualified to benefit under the charter of the royal naval benevolent trust. see (h) attached dated 20th nove 1992assistance in cases of need or distress to serving or ex serving members of the naval forces currently or formerly attatched to or accompanying operations relating to the dispute over the falklands islands and in work relating to the administration of the falkland islands and to the widows, orphans and dependants of such men benefit of past and present and future members of the royal navy or royal marines primarily by instructing them in all matters connected with motor vehicles. surplus transferred. see (k) attached dated 31st jan.1980provision of the cost of maintaining in suitable childrens homes; children who are in need of assistance and whose fathers have served or are serving in the royal navy, preference to be given to children whose fathers served in the great war benefit of widows, orphans or dependent relatives of seamen or marines below the rank of warrant or sub-ordinate officer benefit of ratings of the royal navy who were formerly of the chatham division or who selected chatham as their depot for family welfare purposes.also former ratings and wives, widows and dependents of those persons. see (j) attached dated 6th january 1993a) benefit of ex-serving members of our naval forces who served in the royal naval volunteer reserve for any period on or before 31st october 1958 and the widows and orphans and dependents or such men.b) serving and ex-serving members of our naval forces who are serving or who have served in the royal naval reserve for any period commencing on or after 1st november 1958 and the widows orphans and dependents of such men see (i) attached dated 8th sept.1986to provide financial assistance in case of necessity or distress amongst a) serving and ex-serving locally enlisted personnel of the malta port division, who have served in that division since 1st january 1973.b) widows and dependants of the above, but who die on or before 31st march 1990 to afford assistance-in cases of need or distress-for the exclusive benefit of the following categories of beneficiaries: (a)the widows, orphans and other dependants of those former members of ""our naval forces"" (as separately and specially defined in rnbt's royal charter) who: 1.were killed in action or died of wounds sustained in action during operation corporate in 1982, or 11.have, since the cessation of hostilities, died or have been killed in circumstances which the rnbt grants committee may from time to time in its discretion deem to be attributable either to service during operation corporate or to later service in the falkland islands directly linked to the conflict (e.g.killed by a mine which had been laid during the conflict). (b)serving and ex-serving members of ""our naval forces"" (as separately and specially defined in rnbt's royal charter) and the wives, children and other dependants of such men, who 1.were injured in action during operation corporate in 1982, or 11.have, since the cessation of hostilities, been injured or have become physically or mentally handicapped in circumstances which the rnbt grants committee may from time to time in its discretion deem to be directly attributable either to service during operation corporate or to later service in the falkland islands directly linked to the conflict (e.g. injured by a mine which had been laid during the conflict or suffering from post traumatic stress disorder). thirdly, that the grants committee be authorized to make disbursements at its discretion from the falklands fund to eligible beneficiaries of that special fund in need or distress, provided that all such grants be made for a purpose permitted under the provisions of the trust's instructions as to grants. fourthly, that-exceptionally- all grants made from the falklands fund be excluded from the computation of the maximum cumulative total of grants which may be given to any one family unit under the provisions of paragraphs 58 to 64 of the trust's instructions as to grants. 1) to provide relief in cases of necessity or distress to those who have served or are serving in our naval forces.2) to make provision of training for such persons for civil life and assistance in order that they may obtain suitable employment on leaving the service.3) to make contribution to the care, training, maintenance and welfare of the families and dependants of such persons in cases of necessity and distress. for the provision of cottage homes for disabled and infirm sailors and their families"
