the prevention elimination relief and curing of pain or fear in animals in futherance of which the fund shall investigate ways and means of promoting humane behaviour towards animals and shall publish the results of such investigations. to promote humane behaviour towards animals on an international basis (1). to prevent cruelty and promote humane behaviour towards all animals whether domestic or wild, in the united kingdom or abroad, so as to reduce or eliminate pain, fear, suffering, distress or lasting harm inflicted upon them by humans, and in pursuance of this aim to enlist the energies of members of universities, professional men and women and all others who work with, are responsible for, or the care of animals.(2). to encourage and promote, through the process of education, good management and husbandry practices whereby the needs of animals are properly understood and met, and, in advancement thereof, to contribute to the store of scientific knowledge by funding and engaging in animal welfare research and by publishing the results thereof. the promotion of original research in the biological sciences without any recourse to experiment upon living animals of a nature to cause pain. (for fuller details see trust deed) 1. to promote humane behaviour entailing the prevention, elimination, diminution, relief and curing of pain or fear in animals overseas. 2. especially to promote overseas humane behaviour by encouraging and facilitating the use of humane methods of destroying animals whenever they have to be destroyed and the use of anaesthetics and drugs whenever the same are calculated to prevent or diminish pain or suffering in animals and by training men and women in methods designed to achieve the prevention of pain or fear in animals overseas mentioned above. 1. to provide relief for existing animal suffering;2. to promote humane behaviour towards animals in all parts of the world; 3. to obtain and disseminate knowledge and understanding of the needs of animals; 4. to provide educational material on animal welfare matters for use in schools and colleges; 5. to otherwise promote the welfare of all animals.
