for or towards the provision of a studentship (to be called the macmillan studentship) tenable at the british school by a british man who shall have attained an honours standard in classics and shown a special knowledge of some branch of greek archaeology history art or language. to promote the study of greece in all its aspects. to provide facilities for those engaged in research into the anthropology, archaeology, archaeometry, architecture, art, environment, geography, history, language, literature, religion and topography of greece in all periods to modern times. (a) to promote and advance education; and (b) to encourage and promote the study and dissemination of knowledge of all aspects of the united kingdom and the british people and of greece and the greek people and in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) to award scholarships bursaries and grants to greek citizens for study in the united kingdom and to british citizens for study in greece and, in both cases for travel to, from and within the other countries, for the purposes of such studies.
