(for further details see supplementary charter of 23rd october 1972). the making of grants to any convalescent home or other charitable institution providing facilities for convalescence for aged or poor and distressed persons who are or were either printers (whether or not employed or formally employed) in the printing trade or in any other of the allied trades of ink-making, paper making, book binding, the warehousing ink, paper, books, or printing or binding materials or the manufacture of typesetting, foundry, printing or binding machinery, or the windows and children of such persons. to afford relief whether by way of grants of a capital nature or by the way of the payment of annuities or other periodical payments to persons who are employed in the printing trade or any trade allied thereto and who are aged infirm or in needy circumstances or to the wives or children of such persons or to the widows (being widows, who are aged or infirm or in needy circumstances) or the children (being children who are in needy circumstances) of any deceased person who during his life was employed in the printing trade or any trade allied thereto
