to be applied by the committee of management of the benevolent fund of the institution of mechanical engineers in their sole discretion for the benefit of indigent teachers of engineering The Charity’s objects are restricted specifically to the following:4.1 To provide financial or other assistance to necessitous persons who are:4.1.1 members of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (the Institution);4.1.2 former members of the Institution;4.1.3 the spouses, widows, widowers, children, relatives and other dependents of such members or former members of the Institution (whether such members or former members are alive or dead at the time such provision is sought). 4.2 To relieve, or assist in the relief of, poverty or financial hardship throughout the world, in particular but without limitation to the provision of funding for development projects, particularly projects or parts of projects with a strong engineering or technical component.4.3 To advance education, in particular through providing funding in support of projects which develop capability in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
