the objects of the charity shall be the provision of housing or maintenance for people having insufficient income to live in reasonable comfort without financial support. annuities to distressed ladies pensions to distressed spinsters or widows. pensions to distressed ladies and spinsters. to provide annuities of not less than thirty pounds but not exceeding one hundred pounds apiece for poor ladies, a preference to be given to applicants who have for not less than ten years had their usual residence in bristol or in the county of somerset or partly in bristol and partly in the said county. to provide a nursing home for aged distressed members of the upper and middle classes of society. until such time as the property of the charity is required for furthering the above mentioned object the trustees may apply the clear income in paying the nursing home fees of aged, distressed members of the upper and middle classes. the relief of qualifying persons (as defined in clause 4) who are in need of assistance by reason of old age, infirmity, sickness or economic circumstances.
