to provide and help maintain trained nurses for the poor in their own homes. for the benefit of queen's nurses by grants or pensions with a preference to nurses of welsh descent. income to be applied to the training of district nurses. capital and income to be used for the benefit of invalid and aged nurses either by grants or implementing pensions. for the benefit of active or retired domicilary nurses or midwives or members of headquarter's staff deserving of assistance by grants. to provide holidays and other amenities for active or retired district nurses or nurses undergoing training by the institute, or any other persons who have been employed or otherwise engaged in administration of the affairs of the institute. to establish and maintain a district nursing service in poorer parts of eire. the provision of queen's nurses for poor districts in the west of ireland. for the benefit of district nurses and midwives or retired district nurses and midwives in need of financial assistance by reason of old age, ill health or other cause who shall have worked in the former west riding of york or for such other purposes as the institute shall think fit. to make grants and pay annuities in necessitous cases to nurses who are, or have been, associated with the district nursing service. in making grants and annuities to queen's nurses or ex-queen's nurses or to be employed in any other way for the benefit of such nurses. to help maintain a queen's nurse in the brixton d.n.a. area. for education, in particular for the william rayne staff college. (1) the training, support, maintenance and supply of persons to act as nurses for the sick and as midwives and health visitors and the undertaking of preventive and supervisory work for securing health. (2) the establishment of homes (including training homes) for such nurses, midwives and health visitors and of maternity hospitals for the instruction of such nurses, midwives and health visitors and of maternity hospitals for the instruction of such nurses midwives and health visitors in midwifery and clinics for their instruction on child welfare. (3) the co-ordination and supervision of centres for any of the aforesaid purposes and generally the promotion and provision of improved means for nursing the sick and securing health. (4) to co-operate with other corporations, bodies and persons in carrying out the above objects with power to make grants from general and charitable funds or otherwise assist such bodies or persons in the furtherance of such objects.
