payment of annuities of not more than $208 per annum each or such other amount as the trustees of such fund think fit and the charity commissioners approve from time to time, for the benefit of poor persons residing in maidstone and who have resided there for 20 years and are not under the age of 60 years, selected from respectable decayed tradesmen, widows and spinsters and of these natives of maidstone and aged persons to have the preference, provided they be of good character, sober habits and worthy of the gift.
