Objects:

provision and repair of almshouses and for the benefit of the almspeople of whom three shall be poor batchelors or widowers who have resided in the city of durham, one shall be a ancient parish of brancepth, three shall be poor spinsters or widows who have resided in the said city and one shall be a poor spinster or widow who has resided in the said ancient parish. all the almspeople shall be persons of good character who have resided in the prescibed area for not less than one year next preceeding the time of their appointment.
