to promote kindness and prevent or suppress cruelty to animals to defray the cost of the upkeep of any one or more homes of rest for animals maintained by the r.s.p.c.a. (1) in the event of war to provide any necessary equipment required by the army veterinary department. (2) in peace-time to be applied for the general purposes of the r.s.p.c.a. for the relief of suffering of and the rescue and treatment of birds contaminated by oil pollution of the sea. to promote kindness and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals in all parts of the world outside of england and wales in such manner and in such ways being charitable as the society shall from time to time think fit 1) to secure improvement in the conditions and treatment of horses and ponies employed in mines and the eventual discontinuance of their use below ground. 2) any surplus income may be applied for the protection of former working horses and ponies to promote kindness and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals. the furtherance and support of the charitable work of the rspca london hospitals at islington and putney and the clinics attached thereto. subject thereto, for such other charitable work of the rspca as the trustees shall think fit. to be invested in trust for that charity and income from that investment must be used for the general charitable purposes of the beneficiary referred to in the name of that charity for any charitable purpose relating to the promotion of kindness and the prevention or suppression of cruelty to animals by so that no part of the capital thereof is to be expended for those purposes but instead is to be retained as part of the permanent endowment of the alexander and dorothy simpson fund. for the general purposes of the royal society for the prevention of cruelty to animals. to further or promote the charitable work of the hospital. the trustee shall hold the capital and income of the trust fund upon trust to apply the income, and all or such part or parts of the capital, at such times, in such manner, as the trustee may in its discretion think fit:a) in particular for, or towards the benefit and support of the lockwood donkey centre, sandhills, wormley, surrey and also to promote kindness and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals generally;b) to rescue and provide care and shelter for stray, neglected and unwanted animals of all kinds (including, but not limited to donkeys).
