the advancement of medical education particularly by the financial assistance of a person who for whatever reason is unable to receive a statutory grant and who in the provision of the trustees may be in need of such assistance. for the purpose of receiving charitable gifts which are to be applied at the discretion of the trustees of the fund to named medical charities. (1) grants to members of the medical profession or their dependants who the trustees consider are in the need of assistance. (2) subscriptions or grants to such charities as the trustees think fit to obtain the benefit of such charities for any individual member of the medical profession or their dependants advancing the medical education of persons who are for whatever reasons unable to receive statutory grants and who in the opinion of the trustees may be in need of such assistance
