(removed - merged by scheme of 11.12.1985) the trustees shall apply the clear income of the charity in augmentation of the income of the charity called sir robert geffery's homes. the provision of periodical or other publications of amusement and instruction for use of the inmates of sir robert geffery's homes subject to deduction of an annuity of $5 for the clerk of the company for the time being, income distributed between non-free poor inhabitants of sir geffery's homes the benefit of inmates of the homes who are the widows or daughters of freemen of the company. if the income is not required for this purpose, the same may be applied for the benefit of inmates of the homes who are not widows or daughters of freemen of the company for providing a scholarship or prizes for the athletic sports or in such other manner as the ironmongers' company may think fit for the benefit of the scholars attending sir robert geffrey's foundation school at landrake. for the benefit of the residents and former residents in the almshouses and homes of the charity or any of them in such manner as the trustees think fit from time to time. the residents shall be persons of limited means of good character who are wholly or in part unable to maintain themselves by their own exertions: preference shall be given to freemen of ironmongers' company their widows and dependents. to apply the assets of the charity in the following proportions:- 1/4 part for thomas betton's charity for prnsions and releif in need; 3/4 parts for mr thomas betton's charity (educational). to apply the income for such purposes and objects being charitable at law as the company in its absolute and uncontrolled discretion think fit. 1. yearly sum of $50 to the chaplain of sir robert geffrey's home. 2. paying pensions to pensioners who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress of the following classesand in the following order ofpriority; (a) freemen of the ironmongers' company and their widows and children; (b) persons who are or have been employed or engaged in the trade of ironmonger or trades associated therweith and their widows and children; (c) poor persons. administered by the worshipful company of ironmongers 1) in assisting the governors for the time being of the school to discharge their obligations with respect to the maintenance of the school. 2) in promoting the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who are resident in parish of landrake-with-st. erney and who are in need of financial assistance. for further details see clause 9 of the scheme of 10/2/1992. for the benefit of schools, wherein religious instruction is given in accordance with the principles of the church of england or of the church of wales. (1) in the city of london and the metropolitan boroughs comprised in the first schedule to the london government act 1939. (2) in england and wales outside the city of london and the metropolitan boroughs comprised in the first schedule to the london government act a similar nature to the objects of either of the above-named institutions.
