during such time as an assistant curate is employed and a vicar is officiating in the said ecclesiastical parish, the trustees shall apply the said income in paying a yearly sum of not less than $120 in augmentation of the stipend of the said assistant curate and subject thereto, shall apply the said income in either or both of the following ways: (i) in paying the expenses of the said vicar incurred in the performance of his parochial duties, and (ii) in augmenting the stipend of the said vicar.
