the benefit of poor persons resident in the ancient township of salford and not in receipt of poor law relief other than medical relief by making payments under one or both of the following heads - 1) the supply of clothes, boots, linen, bedding, fuel, tools, medical or other aid in sickness, food or other articles in kind; 2) temporary assistance in money, by way of loan or otherwise, in case of sickness, special distress or unexpected loss. benefit of the poor of the town of salford benefit and advantage of poor inhabitants of salford one half to be distributed in coals among poor widows and housekeepers of salford. balance in clothing poor children of salford and giving each child a church of england catchesism. for the purchase of clothin to be distributed amongst such poor women resident in the charlestown ward of the borough of salford. a sum of $3 shall be applied out of the income of the charity of samuel haward in the purchase of bibles or other books, to be distributed as prizes or rewards to poor children resident in the township of oldham who attend any, properly conducted sunday school of any religious denomination. a sum of $5 shall be paid to the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of salford to be applied by them in granting prizes or rewards to poor children resident in salford who attend any properly conducted sunday school of any religious denomination. a sum of $1 shall be paid to the vicar for the time being of st. mary, oldham, or some other able minister of the church of england, for a sermon to be preached on the first wednesday after michelmas. purchase of bread for the benefit of the poor of salford the relief either generally or individually persons resident in the city of salford who are in conditions of need, hardship and distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship and distress of such persons. the trustees may pay for such items, service or facilities by way of donations or subscriptions to institutions or organisations which provide or which undertake in return to provide such items, services or facilities for such persons. in exceptional cases the trustees may grant relief to persons otherwise eligible therefore who are resident immediately outside the city of salford but in the opinion of the trustees ought nevertheless for sufficient reason to be treated as if resident therein and who are located for the time being within the city of salford primarily in or towards the repair and maintenance of the church of the sacred trinity salford and the yard attached thereto and the fittings, furniture and ornaments therein and subject thereto if the trustees and distributors think fit in augmenting the stipend of the rector for the time being of the said church surplus income may be applied (1) the cost of repairs, insurance and other outgoings payable in respect of the property managed by them including the cost of furnishing and equipping the same and of providing services therein or in connection therewith (including the provision of domestic and medical assistance, advice, supervision or nursing); and(2) all other proper costs, charges and expenses of and incidental to their administration of the booth charities. (3) the relief of the aged, impotent or poor inhabitants including the payment of pensions to and the provision and maintenance of almshouses for poor inhabitants with a preference for such poor inhabitants who are over 60 years of age; (4) the relief of distress and sickness among the inhabitants; (5) the provision and support (with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants in the interests of social welfare) of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation; (6) the provision and support of educational facilities for the inhabitants; (7) any other charitable purposes (wheth 1) the relief of the aged, impotent or poor inhabitants including the payment of pensions to and the provision and maintenance of almshouses for poor inhabitants with a preference for such poor inhabitants who are over 60 years of age; 2) the relief of distress and sickness among the inhabitants; 3) the provision and support (with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants in the interests of social welfare) of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation 4) the provision and support of education facilities for the inhabitants 5) any other charitable purposes (whether or not of a nature similar to any of those hereinbefore specified) for the benefit of the inhabitants (1) the relief of the aged, impotent or poor inhabitants including the payment of pensions to and the provision and maintenance of almshouses for poor inhabitants with a preference for such poor inhabitants who are over 60 years of age;(2) the relief of distress and sickness among the inhabitants (3) the provision and support (with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants in the interests of social welfare) of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation;(4) the provision and support of educational facilities for the inhabitants;(5) any other charitable purposes (whether or not of a nature similar to any of those hereinbefore specified) for the benefit of the inhabitants.
