"the relief of poor and aged persons with a preference for non-professionals. pensions for poor women in financially distressed circumstances resident in portsmouth or neighbourhood. for the assistance of distressed gentlefolk. pensions to two elderly poor persons. the provision and upkeep of accommodation for elderly ladies at any home maintained by the friends of the elderly and gentlefolk's help. pensions for gentlefolk. financial assistance to women of gentle birth and or education who are in reduced circumstances through no fault of their own. to relieve gentlewomen who are engaged in professional or social work. benefit of ailing and necessitous spinsters residing in any home belonging to the friends of the elderly and gentlefolk's help. IN GRANTING ANNUAL SUMS OF ú50 OR THEREABOUTS EACH TO GENTLEWOMEN, EITHER SPINSTERS OR WIDOWS, ETC IN DISTRESSED CIRCUMSTANCES. to help widows between 55 and 65 years of age. for the public benefit, the relief of those in need by reason of financial hardship by the provision of grants, goods or services. to relieve poverty; to offer advice and to give assistance in money and in kind to those who are genuinely necessitious; to establish and carry on homes in the united kingdom and elsewhere, and in particular homes for old people, convalescent homes and holiday homes for persons of any age and either sex who are in need of care and assistance. (1) the object of the charity is the relief of members or former members of the nursing profession who are in need, hardship or distress in particular by:(a) the provision of residential accommodation; or (b) making grants of money to them; or(c) providing or paying for goods services or facilities for them; or(d) making grants of money to other persons or bodies who provide goods services or facilities to those in need.(2) if residential vacancies exist which cannot be filled by members or former members of the nursing profession the trustee may offer accommodation and related services and facilities to members or former members of professions allied to medicine.(3) if and in so far as it is not able to fill the vacancies in the charity's property in the manner specified above the trustee may offer accommodation and related services and facilities to any member of the public who is in need, hardship or distress. (1) the object of the charity is the relief of persons in need who are sick, convalescent, disabled or infirm by alleviating their suffering or assisting their recovery.(2) the trustees may relieve those eligible for assistance by:(a) providing a home for them which displays the name ""smiles""; or (b) making grants of money to them; or(c) providing or paying for goods, services or facilities for them; or (d) making grants of money to other persons or bodies who provide goods, services or facilities to those eligible for assistance. the object of the charity is the relief, for the benefit of the public, of people who are in need by reason of age, infirmity or financial hardship by the provision of or by supporting the provision of care and accommodation for such people, in the following order of priority: (1) nurses, retired nurses, other people serving or who have served in the national health service in a paid or voluntary capacity and other health or social care workers who are in need by reason of age, infirmity or financial hardship; (2) people aged over 60 who are in need by reason of age, infirmity or financial hardship. payment of pensions to poor persons of good character who have resided in the parish of sutton valence or in one of the parishes next adjacent thereto for not less than two years next preceding the time of appointment being men of not less than 65 years of age and women of not less than 60 years of age. preference shall be given to widows qualified as aforesaid. if the said income is not required as aforesaid it is to be distributed to the poor generally. the provision of residential accommodation for occupation by elderly poor men of good character without regard to nationality creed class or colour or religious or political belief, preference being given to men who in the opinion of the trustees are of good character and moral worth. a pension of not more than ·52 a year to poor and afflicted men of good character who are not less than 65 years of age and poor and afflicted women of good character who are not less than 60 years of age.
