(a) in promoting the military efficiency of the territorial army units or sub units of the rifles based the county of durham by improving facilities and amenities of training and service;(b) in creating, repairing and maintaining memorials commemorating the deeds of the durham light infantry or the names of its members;(c) in making grants: (i) to the rifles benevolent trust;(ii) to the regimental museum of the durham light infantry;(iii) towards the upkeep of the durham light infantry chapel in durham cathedral and the memorial garden in the cathedral precincts;(iv) to any hospital, home or institution having among its objects the relief of sickness or convalescence of officers or other ranks who are serving or have served in any unit or branch of her majesty's forces; (iii) to any charitable institution having among its objects the promotion and advancement of the science and literature of the three fighting services; and (iv) to public museums relating to british military forces.
